Warriors Swept At Varsity Duals

As hosts of its own Wawasee Varsity Duals, the Warriors were not treated kindly by any of the three teams playing opposite them.

Fairfield, Westview and Jimtown all picked up 5-0 wins on Wawasee, which hosted a round robin format for all four teams. Westview was added to the Duals this year in Columbia City’s stead as the Eagles have just two players on its current roster.

Highlighting action for Wawasee was Nathan Perek in the two singles match against Westview’s Trey Zabana, which went to Zabana 6-4, 6-4. The one doubles team of Jake Hutchinson and Todd Hauser had perhaps the longest match of any for Wawasee, but fell to Jimtown’s duo of Brock Johnson and Ben Janowski 2-6, 7-5, 6-10. Fairfield made no bones of any of its duals with Wawasee, giving up just six games between its five courts.

Wawasee (3-7, 0-2 NLC) will return to work Tuesday against Goshen.
