Lady Warriors Win 2017 Super Duals

After last weekend’s Jimtown Invite where Wawasee was forced to shuffle their lineup due to missing their #1 singles player, the Lady Warriors were back to full strength as they hosted their first ever varsity super duals, and the results showed.

Wawasee swept all three matches, beating Prairie Heights in round 1, Columbia City in round 2 and Southwood in round 3 all by the score of 5-0 for the tournament championship. The Lady Warrior’s core varsity lineup of #1 singles Meg Heinisch, #2 singles Peyton Rookstool, #3 singles Elizabeth Kleopfer, #1 doubles team of Kabrea Rostochak and Kendra Doerr, and #2 doubles team of Taylor Mock and Courtney Larson took home the trophy, all winning in straight sets throughout the round robin tournament except for the final match as it took the #1 doubles team three sets to secure the sweep.

The final tally was Wawasee 3-0, Southwood 2-1, Columbia City 1-2 and Prairie Heights 0-3.

Wawasee improves to 5-7 on the year (1-1 in the conference) and will be on the road versus Northridge on Tuesday.
