Warriors Complete A Noble Sweep

Wawasee’s week 2 schedule included home matches against Central Noble on Tuesday night and West Noble on Thursday night.

Wawasee 4, Central Noble 1

An hour delayed start (due to rain) against a much-improved Central Noble team didn’t shake the Warriors from sweeping its doubles courts and pulling out 2 of 3 singles courts for the team win Tuesday night.

Graham Perek (#2 singles) won in straight sets 6-2, 6-0 followed by Colin Rhoades (#3 singles) 6-4, 6-1.

The varsity doubles teams only gave up a combined 5 total games, both winning in straight sets.  The #1 team of Jacob Krugman and Grant Brooks won 6-0, 6-1 and the #2 team of Clayton Firestone and Zeke Keim won 6-1, 6-3.

The JV split their match 1-1.  Taylor Fiedeke won at #1 singles 8-0.

Wawasee 4, West Noble 1

Thursday night saw the Warriors’ singles players take all courts en route to a 4-1 victory over West Noble.  #1 singles Zach Leedy, #2 singles Graham Perek and #3 singles Colin Rhoades all won in straight sets.

The final victory of the night was captured by #2 doubles team of Clayton Firestone and Zeke Keim who won in three sets 6-1, 5-7, 6-3.

The JV squad dropped their match 1-4.  Blaine Baut at #3 singles was the sole winner.

Wawasee will face Whitko at home on Tuesday and then hit the road against Concord Thursday night.
