Wawasee JV Beats Elkhart Memorial, Varsity Falls Short

The energy from Wawasee was clearly evident on senior night as the varsity squad narrowly missed posting an NLC victory, falling to Elkhart Memorial 2-3.  Cal Heinisch at #3 singles fought off both his opponent and being under-the-weather, winning in three sets in one of the most gutsy performances of the year.  Wawasee’s other win came from #1 singles Todd Hauser who played his best match of the year.

The JV squad dominated Elkhart Memorial, winning 5-1.  Number 1 doubles Tyler Rhodes and Tim Conley led the charge with a high energy three-set victory.  Singles swept as Cameron Brill, Derek Stutzman and Dylan Staley all won easily.  #4 singles Austin Kline also won his first singles match of his young high school career.
